I Applied to the Walmart Influencer Program -- And Was Rejected
I want to share something honestly — not dramatically, not bitterly — just truthfully.
I applied to the Walmart Influencer Program.
And I was rejected.
If you spend any time in the affiliate marketing world, you’ll hear people say things like:
“You don’t need experience.”
“You don’t need followers.”
“You can start making money overnight.”
I believed them — at least enough to try.
Walmart didn’t say no because I did something wrong. They said no because they want to see consistent content and an established presence. They asked about my platforms. They wanted to know if I had YouTube, TikTok, or others.
I don’t. And right now, I don’t want them.
I’ll admit — I felt disappointed. Not crushed, but quiet-disappointed. The kind where you pause and think, Did I misunderstand this whole thing?
But after sitting with it, I realized something important:
This wasn’t a failure.
It was feedback.
It told me exactly what I need to keep doing:
- creating content
- building trust
- showing up consistently
- letting this grow the right way
And honestly? I’m okay with that.
I’m not here for overnight success. I’m here to build something steady, honest, and sustainable — especially in this season of life.
If you’re starting out and you hear someone say, “Anyone can get approved instantly,” just know this: Real businesses still look for real signals.
And if you’re not there yet — neither am I.
So I’m continuing.
Writing.
Sharing.
Learning.
Building.
This is a fresh season — not a rushed one.
And I’m still very much on the path.
